Faculty Woodwind Quintet

The University of Mississippi Faculty Woodwind Quintet is one of several chamber ensembles supported by the Music Department, and has been presenting regular concerts for Oxford and the university community since 1994. The quintet has performed across the Mid-South region, including at the Buckman Performing and Fine Arts Center in Memphis, and undertook a CD recording project of the works of a local arranger and composer. As part of its educational mission, the quintet also conducts regular tours of secondary schools around the state. Among other places, the quintet has been invited to perform at the International Double Reed Society Conference in Greensboro, North Carolina, and for the students of the North Carolina Governors School. The ensemble brings together Music Department faculty members with wide-ranging experiences and interests, including public school instruction, conducting, instrument repair, and orchestral performance.
